slaveboysmith: How long have You been a Dominatrix, and what was it that brought You to this role?

Goddess Severa: I’ve been a Domme for about 17 or 18 years now. Initially I got into the scene for pure survival when I moved to NYC. However, I found that I really enjoyed exploring My own fantasies. Even more, I found helping others to explore their kink tremendously fulfilling. I consider Myself a subversive therapist of sorts.

sbs: Would You say You are naturally dominant, or is it more of a role play when You are in session?

GS: I am 100% Dominant. I am a feminist. I am pro woman. I am very comfortable in My body and in assuming control over men.

sbs: Some women would say they could do Your job in a heartbeat, but it requires far more than being beautiful and looking amazing in fetish wear to take control of a slave. What skills do You think a successful Dominatrix such as Yourself needs to have?

GS: Hmmm. I would say that anybody who says that she could do something effortlessly, with no basis in reality is not someone to be taken seriously. I have spent years developing My craft on a number of levels. I have a Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which took more than a decade to attain and have spent thousands of hours in sessions. I have to navigate potentially explosive areas with strangers. Not only do I have to be on alert for possibly dangerous individuals, but I have to carefully engage someone I may have just met so he can be comfortable enough to reveal things to Me he may never have told anyone else before and go through with things he may feel shy doing. When I am with someone, he is the only thing that exists for Me and he has to trust Me and believe that I can take him to new levels: this requires reading body language, interpreting subtle cues and hearing unspoken words. This takes skill and confidence and has required years of experience to develop.

sbs: Can You explain what makes a man want to be a slave? What motivates them to spoil You as they do so easily and hand over absolute control to You?

GS: I think men find the experience of playing with Dominant women to be truly delicious. It’s fun and sexy to hand over control and be taken care of by someone. Being submissive is a gift that you give to someone and I treasure and honor My playmates for giving Me that gift.

sbs: What are Your favourite fetishes to explore with Your slaves? Is it different for You in person vs in online sessions?

GS: I am good at many things in session. For Me, it’s ultimately about power exchange and the personal chemistry that flows. This can come from a ball-busting session, a cross-dressing session…foot worship. It doesn’t matter. What matters is the positive nature of the exchange so both parties are being titillated.

sbs: Are there any negatives involved in being a Dominatrix?

GS: Absolutely. Judgment from others, people gossiping and being nasty, making assumptions about one’s supposed lack of moral character etc. Haters will vilify and condemn that which they do not understand.

sbs: Have You met many other Dommes? Do You ever do sessions with other Dommes involved?

GS: Of course! I met many people in the scene when I worked at the Taurel Institute, the Den of Iniquity, the Parthenon in NYC and then of course at all the parties I attended. Now in LA, I am also meeting people in the scene. I do many other things in My life aside from Domming though, so I do not socialize too much at clubs. I would happily session with the Dommes I know, but tend to be more of a lone wolf.

sbs: What is the cruelest thing You have ever done to a slave? And, of course, they deserved it.

GS: Cruel is a relative term, but I can tell you that it was not a physical form of punishment. The cruelest thing I have done is to cut off communication from someone who desperately wanted My attention. Masochists do not care about pain. They want attention. They behave badly to get that attention. What cuts them deeper than any physical pain is to deny them that interaction: to not respond to them ever again is heart breaking for them.

sbs: Are most of the slaves You see “regulars” or do You see many new clients? Do You prefer one over the other? How do You feel about seeing 1^st time slaves?

GS: I love all those who make it through My vetting process -whether they are new or old to Me. That being said, potential new playmates can come across like real bozos. Just the other day someone contacted Me asking Me for a strip tease with a lap dance… followed by ME giving HIM a massage!! What a clown. Very uninformed. (Of course I did not see him). And just last night I played with someone I’ve known for about 18 years. There’s a wonderful comfort level there of playing with such a sub. He’s not just a sub, but My friend. Alternately, I love popping the cherry of a brand-new sub. That is a very special bond to make and always an experience I enjoy.

sbs: How do You know when You have truly broken someone and are completely in control of them? Is there a look You see that tells You when You have a slave completely vulnerable?

GS: There’s a certain look in someone’s eyes when they go from being nervous to in “sub-space” and wonderfully under My control. It’s a hypnotic look where they are very gentle, submissive and quiet.

sbs: Do any of Your slaves serve You outside of sessions? ie. real-life slaves in everyday life?

GS: I have a long-time slave of 10 years who is My manservant, errand-boy, whipping-boy, go-to man, traveling companion, bitch and friend.

sbs: Have any of Your clients tried to reverse the power dynamic and top from the bottom with You? How do You make sure they realize they are there to serve You, not the other way around?

GS: How tiresome. Of course I have come across bossy-bottoms and do not care for them. I call them on their bs and don’t repeat playing with them again if they refuse to accept that it is: My games, My house, My rules.

sbs: Are the people in Your personal life aware of Your work? Does this pose any problems being as You are so high profile?

GS: Anyone who is close enough to Me to be considered a friend or a lover knows what I do and accepts it. All others, need not apply.

sbs: Have You ever been recognized in public? How does the slave react to seeing his ultimate fantasy Domme in person?

GS: I have been recognized a number of times. Usually the person is discreet but one time in NYC a man was really over the top in his amazement. Discretion and courtesy is important to Me and usually people understand that.

sbs: Cash or gifts? What type of tribute do You prefer from Your slaves to show they appreciate You and are sincere in their desire to serve You?

GS: I am in favor of slaves who do not just give lip-service to Me but actually SHOW Me that they value Me and this can be shown in a variety of ways.

sbs: What role does social media such as Twitter, Skype, etc. play in Your business?

GS: Twitter and Instagram are fun ways to connect with fans. I joined both of those recently and am really enjoying making connections and sharing in My day to day activities.
