MVR: You’re such a charmer! To be honest, I’ve been kinky for as long as I’ve been aware of reality around me. From spanking my young friends when I was still in grade school, to torturing and humiliating my male classmates in high school; I always seemed to catch the attention of people who wanted to be in my devious path. When you are surrounded by enablers, life gets interesting quick! I started working at my first dungeon when I was 18 and over the course of a couple of years, gained a following large enough to branch out on my own. The rest is more or less history. While I drew a lot of inspiration along the way, this was always a part of my personality. A craving for control, the desire to cause those around me to feel both indulged and exploited, watching the joy on their faces when I could help them reach the feeling of subjugation and arousal they otherwise had a hard time finding. MVR: Hummm… I tend to use the word ‘slave’ only in reference to people I personally own – but between them and my clients, I tend to draw open minded visitors who just want to try “All The Things”. Of course a polite, well rounded, witty, masochist will always make my pulse race but if someone takes to BDSM with the same enthusiasm as I do – I’m totally won over.
sbs: It’s hard to imagine a submissive not being enthusiastic to be in your presence, Mistress. What type of fetishes and kinks are your favourites? Are there any that you are especially known for being an expert at?
MVR: To be honest, if I’m an expert at anything, it’s multitasking. MVR: Oh hell….I have some *serious* celebrity crushes. The unobtainable nature of someone in the public eye really draws me so I’d be at a split decision between Gillian Anderson or Tom Hiddleston. I don’t think it’d be appropriate for ANY publication for me to type what I would do to them – however suffice it to say, I’d be very glad my dungeon is soundproof.
sbs: Oh my! I have to say, the idea of you dominating Gillian Anderson into absolute submission is probably causing many of our readers heads to swirl! What a wonderful mental image that is! Are there substantial differences between dominating male and female submissives, Mistress?
MVR: My approach to topping is pretty variant anyway, but men are often more about physical play and women tend to crave more of the psychological. This obviously isn’t a stone cold rule and I always prioritize tailoring scenes to the individual, but it seems like ‘less is more’ goes a long way when playing with women. MVR: I always try to have something exciting on my horizon, for now – my dungeon has been given a massive overhaul complete with a new look, new furniture and equipment from Fetters. I’m also in the midst of giving my website a totally new layout with new images, deeper glimpses into my dungeon, a more thorough list of my gear and so much more. Last but not least, I’m considering my first tour (to LA), but I’ll announce that if, and when, my plans firm up.
sbs: That sounds very exciting Mistress, and I’m looking forward to seeing your new website. Perhaps one day I’ll see your dungeon as well. You’re obviously a well known Dominatrix in the Seattle area, but with your website, your Femdom “footprint”, if you will, is substantial. Have you ever been recognized outside of sessions by one of your admirers, and if so, what was their reaction to being in the presence of the Domme of their dreams?
MVR: Oh gawd it’s happened twice… Once was a semi funny story: I used to have a dungeon just a block away from Target, so naturally it was my go to place when supplies were low. One day after my first booking, I was basically out of everything, I put on some street clothes (but with glam hair and make up) and went to restock. In the medical section, filling my cart with alcohol, condoms and gloves, this guy rounds the corner, goes white in the face and goes ‘OMG Victoria!’ just as his wife follows a few feet behind him with the cart. It was a total impulse move. When we both realized what he had accidentally done, I pretended I didn’t know him and walked away. I could hear the wife asking how he knew me… which he suddenly went into a massive denial mode. Cut to the checkout line, they end up two places behind me as I stack my haul onto the belt: paper towels, panties, condoms, gloves and lube – a LOT of it. The second time was actually in LA/Malibu of all places. I was on vacation with a friend at Nobu and someone noticed me from across the room and covered my bill without ever saying hello. This was 5 years ago – I still fondly think of that person!

MVR: Honestly, I would simply suggest that it’s OK for people to be nervous the first time, And accepting that you might be a little flustered is very important. That can actually be quite charming! As long as you are friendly, open-minded, honest and communicate clearly you will make the best impression possible! Though it does help to avoid projecting ideas of what they think a Mistress might want from them. When people read a lot of protocol books and start acting out postures, positions and honorifics I didn’t instruct, it can be hard to break down whether they’re doing that because it’s their fetish or because they assume it’s what I expect. MVR: Funny thing though, if you’re actually in my dungeon – interview or not – we would have been playing the entire time.
