Feature Interview: Mistress Tangent

slaveboysmith: How long have you been a Dominatrix, and what was it that brought you to this role?

Mistress Tangent: Professionally, I have been a Domme since 2005.  I have always been sadistic, even as a child.  My sadism, in combination with my draw to submissive boys and girls who would willingly endure whatever tortures I had in mind for them, led me to this organically.  I play like this in my personal life and only happened upon it as a profession through my modeling, then fetish video work, then networking until I found my way to a house of Domination.

sbs: Would you say you are naturally dominant, or is it more of a roleplay when you are in session?

MT: Naturally Dominant

sbs: Some women would say they could do your job in a heartbeat, but it requires far more than being beautiful and looking amazing in fetishwear to take control of a slave.  What skills do you think a successful Dominatrix such as yourself needs to have?

MT: Skills?  I believe, in order to be successful, a Domme would need a very smart, strong head on her shoulders – be perceptive of the ever-changing  environment, the body language of her slave, and be able to think through scenarios and adapt accordingly.  Not that it counts as a skill, but passion for what you do would be of help also.  One can only fake so much before the facade starts to fade an become apparent to the slave (Why believe in someone when they don’t believe it themselves?)

sbs: Can you explain what makes a man want to be a slave? What motivates them to spoil you as they do so easily and hand over absolute control to you?

MT: Every man has their own reasons, but I can say some more common underlying reasons would be the freedom, acceptance, and release that can be acquired by relinquishing control to another.  The feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction in serving, helping, and entertaining another.  Some people like to give gifts, others give themselves. 

sbs: What are your favourite fetishes to explore with your slaves? Is it different for you in person vs in online sessions?

MT: I have MANY different favorite fetishes.  I guess it depends on HOW a particular slave reacts in that regard. It is WORLDS different in person vs online. Being face to face to someone, being able to feel and observe their reactions to your actions, is always going to be more intense than the things you say or do through a screen.

sbs: Are there any negatives involved in being a Dominatrix?

MT: Negatives?  Well, I myself, love it.  Perhaps, a point of concern is the misunderstanding and common misconceptions that surround being a Domme.  Explaining to some and keeping it under wraps to others can sometimes be a bit stressful.

sbs: Have you met many other Dommes? Do you ever do sessions with other Dommes involved?

MT: I have.   I do. I enjoy working with fellow Dommes!

sbs: What is the cruelest thing you have ever done to a slave? And, of course, they deserved it.  

MT: Cruel? Me? Never.

sbs: Are most of the slaves you see “regulars” or do you see many new clients? Do you prefer one over the other? How do you feel about seeing 1^st time slaves?

MT: I have many regulars. It depends on the trip and the timing.  Sometimes, I don’t  put up ads and just see regulars, sometimes I have a solid mix of new clients and regulars.  I thoroughly enjoy My regulars, when you already  have a rep ore, and just can enjoy pushing them farther, further evolving what you two have developed is exhilarating.  1st time slaves – are wonderful (IF they allow themselves to be open and willing to relinquish control.)

sbs: How do you know when you have truly broken someone and are completely in control of them?  Is there a look you see that tells you when you have a slave completely vulnerable?

MT: You can see it in their eyes, in their body language, you can feel it – its tangible.  That is one of the most exhilarating looks/ feelings you can receive from a person…mmmm…  Yes.  That is when you are pushed most as a top.  

sbs: Do any of your slaves serve you outside of sessions? ie. real-life slaves in everyday life?

MT: Yes.  Several do, only the select few whom I will ACTUALLY claim as Mine.

sbs: Have any of your clients tried to reverse the power dynamic and top from the bottom with you? How do you make sure they realize they are there to serve you, not the other way around?

MT: Yes, lol.  Power exchange isn’t forcing someone to hand me the reigns.  I want you to surrender to me willingly or you can leave.  It’s your choice.

sbs: Are the people in your personal life aware of your work? Does this pose any problems being as you are so high profile?  

MT: Some are.  Sometimes yes, when tongues slip, the mess can be a hassle to clean up.

sbs: Have you ever been recognized in public? How does the slave react to seeing his ultimate fantasy Domme in person?

MT: I have.  The eyes: that first look of disbelief, which turns to surprise and then to excitement is priceless.

sbs: Cash or gifts? What type of tribute do you prefer from your slaves to show they appreciate you and are sincere in their desire to serve you?

MT: BOTH.  Any sincere form of appreciation is appreciated, in turn by me.

sbs: What role does social media such as Twitter, Skype, etc.  play in your business?

MT: A large one.  The more you are seen and noticed, the better.
